What Happens if it Rains?

Spring is known not only for budding trees and blossoming flowers but also for soggy wet forecasts. We’ve been fortunate the last two years to have beautiful, summer like weather for the event. But, we are prepared for  less than desirable weather conditions. So, what happens if it rains? We move the party inside- but just right across the street to Betances Community Center, 547 East 146 Street, Bx, NY. We will post any changes to our outdoor plans on the blog and on Face Book.

What are you bringing to Get Green?

How about the pair of old sneakers in the back of your closet, the computer monitor you are using for doorstop and the now pink shirts that had a bad run-in with a red sock in the wash. All of these items can be recycled and cashed in for prizes at the Get Green event. So, start your spring cleaning and see what you can come up with! See our list below to get a few ideas.

Electronics:

Textiles:

• Old clothes, reusable or even thread bare
• Jackets, shoes, hats& belts
• Sheets, pillow cases and other bedding
• towels, wash rags or just plain rags

Sneakers:

• Running shoes
• Street sneakers
